A New Kind of Couch Potato

Is this you?  What do you do when you are bored?  I want to watch TV.  TV can be a very bad crutch.  I don't even pay attention to what is on half of the time.  I also get frustrated at myself for wasting so much time sitting on my ass. Instead of Couch Potato it should be called Couch Cottage Cheese.  Get it??? LOL because that is what your ass turns into when you sit on it too long.  Ha I really do crack myself up.  I found a new alternative.  Not really new people and gyms have been doing for quite a while now.

That's right.....put that treadmill, bike, elliptical trainer right in front of your TV.  It will help with your energy level and then you won't waste  so must time watching mind numbing crap, but while you are killing off your brain cells you will be toning that body.  Look I know you can find some educational stuff on television but when you are vegging out you know you are not watching educational programming.

Do you have any fun ideas for working out?

Tip for today
If you can't afford to get exercise equipment look at Craigslist people will post free equipment often.  They don't want to move it, so you benefit from their laziness.

Chocolate Donuts

The more I have been working out and eating better the more I have had some crazy cravings.  I am not depriving myself.  I still eat what I want for the most part I just do it in moderation.  But seriously I have been craving food I don't even eat.  I was at the grocery store today and I felt like I was starving I needed a chocolate donut so badly.  The funny thing is I don't really like chocolate donuts.  The past three weeks have been filled with odd cravings.  The other night I felt like I would go into shock if I didn't get to eat a pickle with horseradish mustard.  Really????  For those wondering  no I am not pregnant.  My point is when we put large quantities of crap in our systems our bodies get used to it.  It is like going through withdrawl, and though that may suck really really bad the outcome will be a happier, healthier you.  Your body is detoxing and you will want to quit, because lets face it it's easier that way.  Don't quit though.  The temporary insanity will eventually end.  I am going through it.  I just keep thinking in 6 months I will be at my goal weight.  I will be happy with my appearance.  How many times have you started down this path and stopped?  Now imagine if you hadn't stopped... where would you be now?  Don't quit.  If I can do this so can you!!!

Today's Tips
Eat your meals on a smaller plate.  It tricks your stomach into believing you ate more.  When I heard this I didn't buy it either, but it really works.

While doing household chores slap on the ipod and dance your butt off.  Great way to burn some calories and make housework entertaining.  Trust me I look like a goofball, but I have fun.  I even sing as loud as I can.(and I can promise you it is not in key)

What's your crazy craving?????

Have a great day.  And dont give up!!!!

What's Your Weight?

170 lbs.

I have been on a mission for the past two years to better my life in every aspect.  Sometimes two steps forward really does mean ten steps back, and sometimes it means two steps forward.  This life alteration has been incredibly difficult.  What I have discovered through this journey is I am a strong woman.  I recently quit smoking after 18 years.  I have been smoke free for almost 11 weeks.  One of my goals has been to lose weight.  Since J was born I kept gaining and now I am 30 lbs overweight. My goal is to lose 48lbs.  The reason I am putting this info out there is because I am going to do something about it.  As many of you know  I have been making huge changes to benefit J and myself.  I want to be a healthier and happier mom for my child.  He needs me.  Okay okay, back to why I am putting it out there.  I am embarrassed by my weight.  If I tell people how much I weigh I will have that extra push to lose it.  I also want to inspire people to take the journey with me.  Let's help each other with tips.  Like:  recipes, hair,  make up ,exercises, weight loss goals, what keeps you motivated, etc.  Here is my challenge.  If you want to participate to better your life post  a comment.  Why do you want to lose weight?

My first piece of advice is to wear make up
You feel better about yourself when you look good.  It will help keep you motivated to keep going.

Another thing do not weigh yourself everyday,  Your weight does fluctuate,  You may get discouraged.  Weigh yourself once a week or less.

I hope you are up for the challenge with me!
